Join us on September 25, 2025, at The Calgary Petroleum Club for a thought-provoking debate featuring world-renowned physicist Lawrence M. Krauss, Ph.D. and acclaimed Free Press journalist Rupa Subramanya. This landmark event will spark critical thinking and civil discourse on Canada’s future.

About our Debaters

Lawrence M. Krauss, Ph.D. is a globally celebrated theoretical physicist, bestselling author, and president of The Origins Project Foundation. A New York Times bestselling author, his newest, just-released book is a collection of chapters on science from 39 contributors entitled The War on Science. Raised in Canada and educated at Carleton University, he pursued doctoral studies at MIT and held prestigious appointments at Harvard, Yale, and CERN. A defender of intellectual curiosity, Krauss writes for The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The Globe and Mail, and hosts The Origins Podcast. Dr. Krauss has moved back to Canada and will argue against the motion.

Rupa Subramanya is an Ottawa-based economist and journalist writing for The Free Press. With contributions to The National Post, Wall Street Journal India, and Foreign Policy, she brings sharp insights to Canada’s economic and social challenges. Rupa will argue for the motion.

About the Moderator

Mark Milke, Ph.D. is the founder and president of the Aristotle Foundation for Public Policy. Mark is a public policy analyst and author with six books, over 70 studies, and more than 1,000 columns published in the last 25 years. Read More
