A Debate Over Canada: Hon. Jason Kenney vs. Keith Wilson, K.C.

May 25, 2026 | Grand Theatre, Calgary

“Be it resolved: The West Should Stay in Canada.”

The future of Canada—and the place of the West within it—has rarely felt more contested.

Join the Aristotle Foundation for an evening of rigorous debate and civil discourse as two leading voices take opposing sides on one of the most consequential questions facing the country today: the place of Western Canada in Confederation.

Featuring the Hon. Jason Kenney and Keith Wilson, K.C., this debate will explore the economic, political, and cultural tensions shaping Canada’s future.

Held at the historic Grand Theatre, this event continues Aristotle’s commitment to fostering reasoned debate on the defining issues of our time.

About the debate

Structured to encourage clarity, fairness, and engagement, the debate will include opening statements, moderated exchanges, rebuttals, and closing arguments.

At a moment when the West’s place in Confederation is being questioned by a substantial minority, this event offers a rare opportunity to hear both sides argued in full.
